    Hi to all.

I am relatively new to Stock Trading.

I am confused about EPS( Earning Per Share) and Dividend.

I bought 1000 shares of OGDC at 126.35 at start of September.

As OGDC announced 37.5 % Dividend ans EPS of 10.69.

As , Dividend amount will be deucted from stock value at start of Book Closure.

I will have Dividend amount in my account.

Wat i want to know is that , Will i also recieves EPS of 10.69. ( 1000 shares * 10.69) = Rs. 10,690 in my Account.

    Waiting for reply.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Regards.

    Unfortunately, No.

You will only get the dividend credited to your account.

If i will not recieve any EPS( Earning per Share) from the company, then wat this EPS means.

Wat will be the benefit if a company posts good EPS.

    Regards,
EPS is the total profits earned by the Company in the year, divided by the total number of shares. In other words, the share of the annual profit earned by each share. :)

A high EPS will cause the share price to go up ... provided that the market feels that the EPS will be sustained in future years.
